The Big Finals of the Quebec Championships of the snowkite Quebec Cup 2011 will take place the 12th and 13th of February 2011 for a first premiere on the Lac of the two mountains at the national Park of Oka.

The Quebec Cup organizes the final leg of the Quebec championships of snowkite racing in collaboration with Aerosport and the national park of Oka.  After the last two stops in the province: Lake Champlain in Venise, Quebec- region of Monteregie (15-16 of January 2011) and the bay of HA!HA!, at the city of the bay- region of Saguenay (29-30 of January 2011). Two action packed journeys with the spectacular presentations of the best competitors in Snowkiting!

The final leg of the Races on power kites using skis and snowboard, the main event of the Quebec Cup 2011, will be going on at this weekend the 12 and 13th of February 2011. The Champions will be crowned during this big Final!

Eole, was barely present the last two Legs. But its looking good for this weekend and lots of riders have confirmed to be present while the organizers promise breath taking action to take place. Attached to their snowboard or skis, the competitors will move at speeds at up to 100 km an hour. Two of the biggest snowkite champions will be their including Simon Gill and William Acosta who has been titled champion of the Quebec Cup for the past 4 consecutive years. On the womens’ side Sonya Guay from Saguenay is aiming for the first time to be crowned and for 2011 a third gold medal!

The Quebec Championships of snowkiting 2011 consists of different types of races that vary depending on the wind conditions and the space available. Offering an exceptional and colorful show for the whole family, the races will be triangular and a long distance is also possible. For this final Leg, the organizers promise a few races dedicated for the junior class that is for ages under 15 years old.

Welcome to all the athletes of this sport that want to participate in the event as well as the public that will be able to assist for free on the lake of the two mountains, in Oka’s national park in front of the service center “Le Littoral”. The park access is 3 dollars per day per adult (if you mention the Quebec Cup), 5 dollars for one adult with kids and 7 dollars for 2 adults with kids. There will be a participant limit of 60 this year, and they can register at the event site in the morning between 8h and 9h on Saturday and Sunday. The Entrance fee is 55 dollars and includes a coupon of participation for the title, subways lunchs, anda dinner with beer on Saturday night. The registration will take place at the center of services. The parents of the Junior competitors will have to register their kids without any entrance fee by completing the registration form and sent in before febuary 11th 2011 by mail or fax. The competition is open to all amateurs and competitors.

The first Start will be on Saturday around 11 am. Depending on the weather conditions, the last start will be around 16h 15. The next day, the starts will be around 10 am and 2 pm. The price giving will be Sunday at 5pm. Medal will be given for the best results in each category. A lot of prizes will also be given out throughout Saturday and Sunday night.

The Press, inscriptions, reunions, and food will all take place in the center of services “le Littoral”.
